Jessie McCallin
Jessie McCallin is the main character in the Caprician novel series beginning with “Journey to Caprice” She is a 43 year old introvert trying to navigate through the stressful state of the world, which includes wars, food shortages, famine, disease, crime, pollution, constant environmental disasters, one after another, wildfires, earthquakes, volcanoes, tornadoes, hurricanes, even solar storms wreaking havoc worldwide.
The only hope to solve any of these major issues seems to be a much higher power than any she could see working in the world today.
She wants to believe in a loving God that could rescue the whole world, but is struggling to understand how one could exist while allowing all this suffering to take place in every corner of the world.
Then she goes to a family reunion that changed everything. As an introvert, she just wanted to get in, make an appearance for her cousin Cody, eat, and get out as soon as possible. Little does she know that her entire existence is about to be turned upside and nothing in her world, or anyone else’s for that matter, will ever be the same.
There is no way to turn back time, once she enters the world of Caprice. Follow her journey throughout the entire series.

Cody
Cody is Jessie’s cousin. The novel begins with Jessie attending a family reunion at Cody’s new house. Cody is a photographer. She took the group shot of the last family reunion the last year before the pandemic. This image is catamount to Jessie being able to enter Caprice. Cody is Jessie’s favorite family member and one of her closest friends. Unlike Jessie, Cody is very outgoing and loves being around people and entertaining. She also travels the world doing her photography and has a way of staying busy and overlooking some of the more telling events happening in the world around her. Fortunately for her and the rest of the world, Jessie gains a finger on the pulse of the ripple happening just beneath the surface and brings Cody into the fold almost immediately afterwards.

Allion
Allion is one of the first people that Jessie meets upon entering Caprice.
He is a wonderfully loving, kind, intelligent Caprician with striking gray blue eyes that seem to be the embodiment of tranquility.
He seems to have wisdom beyond measure that He is willing to share with Jessie that will help her understand her own world much better.
It isn’t long before Jessie discovers who this mystery person is and what His role is in Caprice as well as her own life and the entire world as we know it.
Allion is a very significant part of the story beginning in Journey to Caprice and is present throughout the entire series.
-

Sarah
Sarah is another one of the first Capricians that Jessie meets upon entering and exploring Caprice. Sarah helps Jessie learn to navigate Caprice and see all the different aspects of that world as she helps her understand how it is possible. She also makes the best lemonade Jessie has ever had, ever.
She is also Gracie’s mother and a close friend to many of the animals in Caprice. Autumn Jubilee is also hosted at her house.
-

Gracie
Gracie is Sarah’s daughter. While age in Caprice doesn’t mean anything once you reach adulthood, there are still some younger children as explained in the novel that are still in the process of reaching adulthood. Currently she is what we would consider about 10 years old. Her favorite pastime is playing with the animals in Caprice. She plays a very significant role in Journey to Caprice and Jessie’s journey through it.
-

Ericka Danielle (Dani with an I)
Erica Danielle (Goes by Dani) is the master gardener and animal linguist in Caprice. She is one of the Capricians that helps Jessie understand how the food system works in Caprice and shows her around the amazing gardens there.
She also shares with Jessie about the ability to communicate with the animals of Caprice and Beyond. She knows over 1,000 animal languages and has a very special relationship with many of the plants and animals that live in Caprice. She is introduced in Journey but plays an even larger role beginning in 8th Day.
-

Greg

He is a lumberjack of sorts that lives on top of a mountain in a glass house overlooking his favorite part of Caprice. He is also Sarah’s brother and offers a lot of information that is mentioned in Journey but a lot of the behind the scenes info is used a lot more in 8th Day.
-

Charlie
Charlie is one of the many animals that inhabit Caprice. He is quite friendly and loves Sarah’s pumpkin pie. He is also quite fond of Gracie, maybe because she is always bringing him some off her mother’s pumpkin pie among other things.
Charlie also becomes quite fond of Jessie, even though Jessie is a bit intimidated by him right from the very first shocking time she meets him.
Charlie is quite the bridge in between the human and animal world in Caprice and is one of the fan favorites in Journey.
