Not everywhere at once, but somewhere.

Not through one person doing everything, but through thousands of people choosing to care for the piece of Earth within their reach.

The Caprician New Earth Sanctuary Certification Program has been created to help people turn that choice into meaningful, practical action.

What Is a Caprician New Earth Sanctuary?

A Caprician New Earth Sanctuary is a place where people are intentionally working with nature to restore soil, protect water, grow food, support wildlife, welcome pollinators, reduce harm, and help the land become healthier and more alive.

It does not have to be a large property.

It does not have to be perfect.

It does not have to be expensive.

A sanctuary may be:

A backyard filled with native plants and bird habitat
A small vegetable garden supported by compost and rainwater
A balcony planted for bees and butterflies
A restored woodland edge
A wildlife pond
A native wildflower field
A school garden
A church pollinator garden
A community food-growing space
A farm restoring soil and habitat
A business property being redesigned to support life
A neighborhood working together to protect water, wildlife, and native plants

The size of the space is not what matters most.

What matters is the decision to restore it.

A Practical Path to Restoration

The program will provide a clear, encouraging path for people who want to help the Earth but may not know where to begin.

Participants will choose from practical restoration projects based on the teachings in the Caprician Guide to New Earth Gardening: From Root to Soul and the larger Caprician restoration vision.

Projects may include:

Restoring the Soil

Building compost, adding mulch, reducing bare ground, improving organic matter, protecting soil life, and creating healthier growing areas.

Protecting Water

Installing rain barrels, creating rain gardens, reducing runoff, improving drainage, conserving water, or adding safe water sources for wildlife.

Growing Food

Creating vegetable gardens, herb gardens, fruit plantings, container gardens, edible landscapes, or shared community growing spaces.

Supporting Pollinators

Planting native flowers, host plants, flowering herbs, and seasonal blooms while reducing or eliminating harmful pesticides.

Creating Bird Habitat

Providing native food plants, clean water, nesting opportunities, shelter, and safer conditions for resident and migrating birds.

Providing Wildlife Shelter

Creating brush piles, native hedges, woodland edges, nesting boxes, protected habitat areas, and safe corridors for wildlife.

Restoring Native Plants

Removing invasive species where possible and rebuilding healthy communities of native trees, shrubs, grasses, and flowers.

Reducing Chemicals and Waste

Choosing safer land-care methods, composting organic material, reducing plastic use, and avoiding routine use of harmful pesticides and herbicides.

Protecting the Night

Reducing unnecessary outdoor lighting, shielding lights, using warmer and lower lighting, and preserving dark areas for nocturnal wildlife.

Sharing Restoration

Helping neighbors, exchanging seeds, teaching children, volunteering, creating educational spaces, or helping another person begin restoring their own piece of Earth.

Begin With Three

No one has to restore everything at once.

The first level of the program will begin with a simple challenge:

Choose three meaningful restoration actions.

You might:

Create a pollinator garden
Install a rain barrel
Begin a vegetable or herb garden

Or you might:

Plant a native wildflower area
Add a safe wildlife pond
Create shelter and nesting habitat for birds

Another participant may:

Begin composting
restore an area of damaged soil
Replace unnecessary outdoor lighting with wildlife-friendly lighting

The projects will look different because every property, household, community, and ecosystem is different.

The purpose is not to make every sanctuary identical.

The purpose is to help every participant begin.

Progressive Sanctuary Certification

As participants complete projects across different areas of restoration, they will be able to work toward progressive levels of Caprician New Earth Sanctuary Certification.

Early levels will recognize people who have taken their first important steps.

Higher levels will recognize broader and more established restoration efforts involving soil, water, wildlife, food, native plants, and long-term care.

Certification will be based on real action and documented restoration.

Depending on the certification level, participants may be asked to provide:

Photographs of the project
A brief description of the work completed
Before-and-after images when available
A list of plants or features added
An agreement to follow wildlife-safe and Earth-friendly practices
Updates showing that the restored area is being maintained

The goal is not perfection.

The goal is sincere, responsible, continuing restoration.

Recognition for Work That Matters

Restoration often happens quietly.

Someone plants flowers for butterflies, repairs damaged soil, protects a nesting area, collects rainwater, or transforms an empty patch of land into a living garden.

The world may never know what they did.

We believe that work deserves to be seen.

Certified sanctuaries may be recognized through:

Digital certificates
Sanctuary emblems
Features on the Caprician website
Restoration stories and photographs
Recognition during monthly gatherings
An optional sanctuary directory or restoration map
Optional outdoor signs and garden markers

A sanctuary sign will represent more than an attractive garden.

It will tell visitors and neighbors:

This land is being intentionally restored to support life.

Certification will be earned through restoration. Signs and other physical materials may be made available separately for participants who wish to display and support the movement.

A Growing Restoration Community

The Caprician New Earth Sanctuary Program is not intended to be a one-time checklist.

It is being created as an ongoing community where people can learn, return, share progress, receive recognition, and inspire others.

Monthly Caprician gatherings will introduce newcomers to the movement while continuing to support those already restoring their land.

Gatherings may include:

Practical restoration teaching
Gardening and habitat workshops
Sanctuary project ideas
Book discussions and introductions
Wildlife and pollinator education
Soil and water restoration guidance
Participant success stories
Before-and-after project photographs

Each month, participants will be able to learn something new, choose their next project, and celebrate newly restored spaces.

As the gatherings continue to grow, the restoration grows with them.

The Caprician books began with a vision of a world in which people live in deeper relationship with the Earth, one another, and the life surrounding them.

The novels invite readers to imagine what a restored world could become.

The Caprician Guide to New Earth Gardening: From Root to Soul brings that vision into everyday life through practical guidance for soil, water, food, wildlife, resilience, and restoration.

The sanctuary program is the next step.

It gives readers and participants a way to move from imagining the New Earth to helping build it.

The books support the work.

Our Guiding Principles

Caprician New Earth Sanctuaries will be built around several essential principles.

Work With Nature

Restoration should strengthen natural systems rather than force the land into an artificial form.

Protect Life

Projects should avoid unnecessary harm to wildlife, pollinators, soil organisms, water, and surrounding ecosystems.

Begin Where You Are

Small spaces and first steps matter. Participants are encouraged to begin with what is realistic and continue growing over time.

Restore Rather Than Decorate

Beauty is welcome, but the deeper purpose is to improve the health and ecological value of the space.

Welcome Wildlife Responsibly

Water, shelter, food, and nesting spaces must be maintained in ways that do not create avoidable hazards.

Eliminate Harmful Chemicals

Participants will be encouraged to move away from the use of broad-spectrum pesticides, herbicides, and other practices that damage soil and wildlife. Through this program and the associated books, other methods will become much more practical and useful.

Keep Learning

Restoration is not a single project with a final ending. It is an ongoing relationship with the land.

Share What Works

Every sanctuary can become an example that helps another person begin.

Measuring What We Restore Together

As the program grows, we hope to continue to create a larger picture of what participants are accomplishing together.

With permission from sanctuary participants, the program will anonymously track collective restoration achievements such as:

Acres or square feet being restored
Pollinator gardens created
Native plants established
Wildlife ponds and water sources added
Rain barrels and water-catchment systems installed
Food gardens started
Soil restoration projects completed
Compost systems created
Invasive plants removed
Bird and wildlife habitat established
Schools and community groups participating
Outdoor lights improved for wildlife and dark skies

One small project may feel less significant when viewed alone.

Hundreds or thousands of projects tell a different story.

They show that restoration is spreading.

They show that people are choosing another path.

They show that the New Earth is already beginning.
